Visibility shippers can audit.
Every Caravan truck broadcasts a position. Every load creates a record. Every customer can pull the data — through EDI, through portal access, or through a phone call to a dispatcher who’s already looking at the same screen.
How we run the data
Technology that exists to be checked.
The point of fleet technology isn’t a slide in a pitch deck — it’s the answer when a shipper calls at 4 p.m. on a Friday and asks where their trailer is. Caravan invests in tracking, EDI, and in-cab tooling because the alternative is asking customers to take our word for it.
The stack
Four capabilities, all auditable.
-
Satellite tracking
350+ power units broadcast position and status continuously. Dispatch sees the same map shippers can request via the customer portal.
-
EDI integration
Standard EDI sets for tender, load-status, invoice, and accessorial events. Connects directly into shipper TMS environments — no manual rekeying.
-
In-cab scanning
Drivers scan bills of lading and proofs of delivery from the cab. Documents land in the back office before the truck leaves the dock.
-
ELD compliance
Federally-mandated electronic logging across the fleet. Hours-of-service records are auditable on demand — for safety, customers, and regulators.
For shippers
Customer portal & Freight Assist.
Existing customers manage tenders, track shipments, and pull documentation through the Freight Assist customer portal. New shippers can request a rate or open an account through the contact desk — the same dispatch team handles both.
